Claire is TWO

I was so honored to have an old childhood friend ask me to photograph her beautiful little girl for her TWO YEAR old photos :) Cameron and Casey, you have a GORGEOUS little girl! I had so much fun at this session; she showed me her favorite friends and enjoyed the kisses from a little puppy.  I LOVE her giggle!

Can you guess how old she is?! I couldn't take the picture fast enough, she was already munchin'! :)

So sweet! LOVE her smile!

Looking back at each other

Thank you so much for allowing me to capture these sweet moments of your princess!
Happy Birthday Claire!! <IMV>

Finger Painting....YUM!!

So Summer is here and I have decided to be...CRAFTY :) I havent had the energy to do much, like get out of the house, especially in this awful Houston heat. I googled and stalked searched Pinterest for fun ideas to do with the girls and try to involve Nathan as much as I can. I found this awesome woman who has all kinds of exciting experiments to try. Check her out on FB "It's Gravy, Baby".

TODAY we tried: Edible Finger Paint!!

The ingrediants were simple and included Koolaid for flavor...so cheap and so many flavors and colors!

I prepared it and told the girls to get into clothes that could get messy. Then I had them choose three different colors...they decided on purple, blue, and what they thought was green ended up being red.

Oh and this is Nathans reaction when he discovered what was happening. He is saying, "HUH?? edible??" tehehehe
I let it cool down and had the kids sit, gave them a piece of paper, and said, "okay start painting!"

At first they didnt quite understand..."mom really wants us to stick our fingers in the goo? hmm...is this a trick?" lol
They started drawinga nd quickly discovered the colors were mixing and asked for a cup of water to rinse so they wouldnt mix the colors. I excitedly replied, "nah, just lick your fingers!"

WHAAAAAT? Seriously mom??

haha yep, told them it was good (kind of tart but hey, they may like it)

Sure enough they licked it and well forget finger painting, this stuff was DEEEELISH!! :P

Nathan had more fun with his feet and less interest in the paint. haha However, this is how the girls started off...pretty and dainty like little girls do...cautious not to drop any for fear that mom my snap. But they dropped some here and there and eh, I clenched my jaws but let them have fun. They really enjoyed it...even stating that it was the BEST DAY EVER...which is usually what is said when we do a fun activity. :)

Yeah yeah, I had too much fun with Nathan. Drew a lil mustache on him and he thought he was the cutest...which of course, I completely agree ;)

Also, notice how the girls went from so pretty and dainty to lets be picasso and slap the paint everywhere? Aw, my lil artists!
BTW those suckers are STILL trying to dry. I plan on framing them and hanging them in their room.

And here is the final product..well of them..before I put them in the tub. They had quite a blast and are anxious to see what mama has in store next. I am thinking of doing 4th of July colors next time and doing it outdoors where they can include their feet :)

All in all it was fun and quite yummy! I am pleased to announce...I am becoming quite the crafty mom :P
Oh and I am going to start making bowties/hairbows as well for
props...keep an eye out for a blog on that!

A little man...with his milk & cereal

My son, Nathan, recently reached the five month mark and is slowly learning to sit without support. I stalk Pinterest like crazy and found this REALLY cute idea to do for his 5 month photo shoot. Well I got the props but have been sooo busy and well yeah, a bit lazy in doing them. haha Finally one day I quickly put everything together in my backyard (more like patio) and had my 7 yr old hold him in the bowl while I quickly snapped a few shots. Then while the girls ran around and he threw a hissy fit, I quickly edited them (could be better but considering the circumstances it was all I could work with). So here they are...a little man with his milk & cereal. Oh btw, those are not fruit loops, they are CHEERIOS :)

He was very curious about the Cheerios :P

No worries, SAFETY FIRST...my 7 yr old is holding him but I
edited her out to make it look like he's hanging out by himself :)

A little background....

Welcome to CJC Photography! My name is Amanda and I recently have fallen for a love of photography. I have always enjoyed taking photos of my own children and deep down I wanted a nice professional camera of my own; mostly to take pictures of my own kids and whatnot. Well in March of this year my husband surprised me and bought me a Canon Rebel T3. I am IN LOVE...of course, I would die to have some nifty lenses but right now I am soaking up the fun of the little nuts and bolts from this handy thing.

CJC is very very important to me....and it didn't take me long to decide for sure that this is the name I wanted for my business. My children are my absolute world and I have to incorporate them into my business. Therefore CJC stands for Creigh Jade Charles, the middle initials of each of my children. :)

I hope you enjoy the photos I have taken so far and feel free to continue following along as I continue to grow with my business. I love love LOVE natural lifetstyle photos...I do a few portrait but mostly favor lifestyle. You will hear me say over and over how much I love sunset. It gives the most beautiful magical glow and highlights all the wonderful memories that are captured with the snap of my camera.
